June 26, 2007 - Dig 2 Graves To Begin Shooting "DIG 2 GRAVES" is set to start shooting this weekend. The film got off to a rocky start due to cast and crew setbacks, but production is now moving along smoothly. A few short months ago, Cockeyed Gaze owner Ryan Muniak went for an interview for a crew position for a local film company. He was immediately signed on as Producer and went straight to work. Ryan and director and owner of KnoBudget Productions, Michael Dees, meet several times a week to discuss changes in the script, tasks needing to be taken care of, or to audition new talent. Ryan is really turning heads with his ability to multi-task.
Ryan fell in love with the concept immediately upon reading the script. The new film is an exciting suspense thriller in which the theme is murder and revenge. It follows several characters through the interaction of the victim. It was written as a prequel to another film writer/director Michael Dee aspires to one day make.
The shooting is scheduled to last until the middle of August. Once the film has been wrapped up, it will be sent around to several film festivals with the hope of gettin picked up for distribution. This will not only get them recognition for their film, but it will also open the doors to making more.
If the film is picked up and is packaged and released, we will inform our fans of where they can pick up a copy of Ryan's latest and greatest project. We want to wish the cast and crew Good Luck and Happy Filming!!
May 30, 2007 - Cockeyed Gaze Produces Independent Film KNOBUDGET PRODUCTIONS, in association with COCKEYED GAZE PRODUCTIONS is pleased to announce their newest film project, “DIG 2 GRAVES”. The new suspense thriller will be lead by writer/director, MICHAEL DEES.
This story concerns MITCHELL XIE` (pronounced Shê), a Caucasian American, raised in a tight-knit Asian community, by a Chinese American couple. Mitch is a world-class martial artist, and is finishing his Ph.D. in computer science engineering at a Cleveland area university. He is working with two other Ph.D. candidates to develop a totally new portable device, which will revolutionize personal computing.
While working on his doctoral project, and teaching his requisite undergraduate classes, he falls in love with the daughter of the U.S. Senator from Mississippi. Just as his life appears to be reaching its pinnacle, a conspiracy between Mitchell's adopted father, the Senator, and his two jealous research partners, causes him to lose control of his emotional stability, sanity, relationships, and eventually his life.
This is the story that challenges our preconceived ideas of family, friendship, love, morality, and relationships within the context of a murder-mystery.
Shooting is scheduled to begin in June 2007, with most scenes to be filmed in and around the Cleveland area. The ensemble cast is largely composed of Cleveland's brightest young talent, who are mostly unknown to theatrical audiences. |
